Union minister and senior BJP leader Ananth Kumar died at 2 am this morning at a hospital in Karnataka capital Bengaluru at the age of 59.
He was undergoing treatment for cancer.
Ananth Kumar, a six-time member of Parliament, gregarious with strong political instincts, had managed to be in the inner circle of the central leadership of the BJP.
BJP sources said Kumar's body would be kept at National College Ground in his constituency for public homage.
